Guacamole Three Ways
The classic, plus a smoky roasted version and a tropical mango-habanero twist. Master all three and elevate every party.
🛒 Ingredients
- 6 ripe Hass avocados
- 3 limes, juiced
- 1 white onion, finely diced
- 3 jalapeños
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
- 1 mango, diced
- 1/2 habanero, minced
- 2 Roma tomatoes, for roasting
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- sea salt to taste
- tortilla chips to serve
👨🍳 Method
- 1
Classic: Mash 2 avocados with lime, diced onion, 1 jalapeño, tomato, cilantro, and salt.
- 2
Smoky: Char 2 tomatoes, 1 jalapeño, and 2 garlic cloves directly over flame. Mash with 2 avocados and smoked paprika.
- 3
Tropical: Fold diced mango and minced habanero into the remaining 2 mashed avocados with lime and cilantro.
- 4
Taste each and adjust salt and acid.
- 5
Press plastic wrap directly onto each guacamole surface to prevent browning.
- 6
Serve all three with tortilla chips.
💡 Chef's Tips
- →A lime seed pit resting in the bowl does not prevent browning — plastic wrap against the surface does.
- →Season with salt last so you don't over-salt as other ingredients release water.
- →Use a fork, not a blender — texture is everything.
